DANBURY – A homeless woman banned from a city shelter was arrested on Memorial Day after police said she refused to leave the facility.
Crystal Hernandez, 40, was charged with criminal trespass, breach of peace and interfering with an officer.
Police were called to the Dorothy Day House, 11 Spring St., for a report of a disturbance at about 8 a.m. Monday. Hernandez, who had been banned from the shelter because of earlier incidents, refused to leave the shelter despite several requests to do so, according to the report.
After she was taken into custody, Hernandez continued to be uncooperative and refused to sign her fingerprint cards, police said.
She was held on a $2,500 bond.
