Brandon William Gibbs, 21, of River Road New Milford, is facing charges of credit card theft and assault on a public safety officer.
Gibbs was arrested Dec. 22 when police responded to a report of an incapacitated person in the vicinity of Park Lane and Chestnutland Roads. He allegedly gave false identification and fought with police, causing minor injuries to one police officer, according to New Milford Police.
On taking Gibbs into custody, officers learned an active warrant for his arrest had been issued charging Gibbs with credit card theft and 23 counts of illegal use of credit card.
Gibbs was also charged with interfering with an officer, assaulting a public safety officer, and possession of less than 1/2 ounce of cannabis which was found on his person at the time of his arrest, police said.
Gibbs was held on two $5,000 bond with a court date of Dec. 23. The judicial website does not have a record of Gibbs status as of Thursday.
