Chris Abildgaard of the Social Learning Center will speak on “Creating Social Learning Opportunities Across Home and the Community” for a presentation open to the public Jan.13 at 7 p.m. in the Brookfield Library meeting room.
“To be effective “social learners” one must be able to understand what “social” is, what social “skills” are needed within a given context and then how to synthesize those skills and concepts in order to adapt to the social world around us.
A foundational theory in enhancing one’s social learning abilities is grounded in Social Thinking which is one vehicle for teaching the social abilities that people with Autism Spectrum Disorders struggle with.”
The talk is sponsored by Brookfield SEPTA.
Please RSVP to brookfieldsepta@gmail.com as space is limited.
A $5 suggested donation for non-members of the Brookfield SEPTA
Jane B. Ross, Executive Director of Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities, Inc. will be giving a presentation on learning disabilities and helping struggling readers Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Brookfield Library.
