It’s too bad, but the C.H. Booth Library in Newtown is closed until further notice.
It seems there has been extensive water damage in the library due to burst sprinkler pipes. So until the situation has been resolved, the library will remain closed.
The only up side at the moment is that if you have library materials due back to the library during this closure, you will not be charged late fees. Borrowers are asked NOT to return items until the library re-opens, and to be understanding if they receive an overdue notice in the mail, because the notices go out automatically.
But once the library reopens, items will need to be returned.
Let’s hope this unfortunate circumstance can be remedied quickly. The C.H. Booth Library is a wonderful resource for the community.
Watch their website, www.chboothlibrary.org, for updates on when the library will re-open.
