RIDGEFIELD — The Planning and Zoning Commission will hear an initial request from the Jesse Lee Memorial Methodist Church on Main Street to add office space to the church buildings.
The commission meets Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall Annex on Prospect Street.
The town’s planning director, Betty Brosius said the church wants to add about 2,500 square feet of space by building a second story to an administrative building in the rear of the church. The addition would extend to a car port. The building would have elevators to provide church visitors with handicap access.
The addition will not involve the church sanctuary.
Brosius said that after the commission accepts the plans, it will set a public hearing on them. She said it’s likely that hearing will begin in February.
