Dressage4Kids hosts Ed Program in Woodbury Feb.1

Dressage4Kids, Inc. will present its annual Weekend Educational Program on February 1-2, 2014, hosted by Nonnewaug High School at 5 Minortown Rd. in Woodbury.

Specific talks will feature dressage training – from achieving straightness, to the best strategy for riding tests, the importance of correct rider position and use of cavaletti.
Also covered is help with business planning, buying correct ‘gear’ for you and your horse, and emerging issues in the equine world – something of interest for everyone.
Some topics include: current research from hoof concussion to saddle/horse/rider interaction; saddle construction; anatomy and complimentary therapies, and biomechanics; expert advice on improving riding skills and fitness; tips on horse safety; trailering horses; when to call the Vet., and helpful news on animal welfare.

Riders of all ages and levels, parents, and trainers are welcome to attend.
Register on line. Children under 21 years of age, $30 for two days. Adults $50 for two days, $35 per day.

For the younger horse enthusiasts, there will be special study sessions to start preparing for the Youth Dressage Festival to be held July 11-13, 2014 at HITS-on-the-Hudson in Saugerties, NY.
Spealers include Lendon Gray; Dr. Hilary Clayton, the McPhail Chair at MSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine; Margaret Freeman, USEF “S” Judge; Beth Clarke JD, former Director of Dressage for the USET, and many other top experts who will share their knowledge with you.
