The Connecticut Master Chorale, under the direction of Tina Johns Heidrich, is holding auditions for its upcoming 2013-2014, 15th anniversary season. To find out what openings they have and to schedule an audition, send an email to info@cmchorale.org.
The Chorale rehearses Tuesday evenings in Southbury, and will begin rehearsals Sept. 10 in preparation for their annual holiday concert and their spring concert, both of which will be performed at the First Congregational Church in Danbury.
The annual Holiday Prelude Concert will be Nov. 24 at 3 p.m. The program will feature “The Many Moods of Christmas – Suite 3″ by Robert Shaw; selections by John Rutter and Mack Wilberg; “Christmas in the South Seas” featuring music from Christmas Island, Indonesia, and the Philippines; lullabies; gospel; music with steel drums, music for Advent, Thanksgiving, and Hanukkah; and other selections.
On April 6, the Chorale will present the dramatic “Stabat Mater” by Gioachino Rossini, plus various choruses by Giacomo Puccini. The Chorale will be accompanied by the Connecticut Master Chorale Orchestra.
