The Newtown Board of Education will continue reviewing its proposed 2014-15 budget on Thursday night, with security issues to be part of that agenda.
For this year, the town was able to rely on some Department of Justice grants to assist with the costs of extra police patrols at all seven of the district’s elementary schools, including the temporary relocation of Sandy Hook Elementary in Monroe. But school and town leaders are still debating the best way to provide enhanced security in the future.
What the town and schools decide will clearly have a budgetary impact that has yet to be determined.
The meeting will be held in the legislative chambers at the Municipal Center at 7:30 p.m.
