When the first studies of Neanderthal and human DNA started, scientist doubted modern humans, or their forebears had much in common with our extinct Neanderthal cousins.
But increasingly, it seems we all have some Neanderthal genes in us. In some people, the Neanderthal gene pool could be as high as 20 percent.
This does not surprise me. Some of the people I went to high school with had serious amounts of cave dweller to them.
