Republican First Selectman Bill Tinsley will deliver his first State of the Town address tonight in the Municipal Center building at 7:15 p.m.
All members of the community are invited to attend.
Tinsley said he intends to address the town’s financial “starting line” and how that might affect taxpayers, and the potential, and need, to encourage economic growth so that taxpayers do not have to foot all the bills for what it wants in educational opportunity and town services. He said he will also discuss ongoing projects and highlights for the coming year. He, too, wants to offer a longer view of the town’s future.
He said the town has endured some financial missteps this year, but he is confident that the town can get back on track with all of the town’s boards and leaders working together.
Tinsley said he expects his address will last about 30 minutes, and afterwards dessert will be served in the lobby with a chance for the audience to mix and mingle.
