The Technic Terminators, a Danbury Lego team, was invited to compete in the World Festival that takes place in Missouri in April.
They are the only team from Connecticut at the event that features the First FIRST Lego League, a robotics program for 9 to 14 year olds. They will compete against 84 other teams from around the world.
The team members who will go to Missouri are Andre Charles, Oliver Widiasana, G. Edward Bell, Sean Russell and Mitchell Tomko.
Coach Ellen Bell said the girls Lego team competed at the state event and won the top innovation award. Now, their project will be submitted for competition for an international innovation award. The girls created kits for kids for comfort and survival that would be given to kids who are in the middle of national disasters. They included games to use without electricity, including Legos, nut and gluten free snacks as well as more typical items like toothbrushes and soap.
