Brett Pond of New Fairfield, a senior performance and music education major in the School of Music at Ithaca College, will return to the area as part of the Ithaca College Choir when the choir’s 2014 tour comes to Danbury Wednesday, March 12, at 8 p.m. The performance will be free.
The Ithaca College Choir, under the direction of Janet Galvan, will perform a concert called “Ithaca, My Ithaca,” featuring works by Haydn, Verdi, Brahms, Dan Forrest, Dominick DiOrio, and others. Former choral singers from Ithaca College are invited to join the choir for certain selections on the program, such as the traditional spirituals, “Deep River,” and “Ezekiel Saw de Wheel.”
Other stops on the spring 2014 tour will include Melrose, Mass., on March 13; Newtown, N.J., on March 14; and New York City on March 15. The final stop will be Ithaca College’s Ford Hall on March 22. For more information, visit www.ithaca.edu/music/ensembles/choir.
