Sometimes, airline passengers see what are called ‘glories” rainbow patterns above the clouds caused by light being refracted through droplets of moisture in the sky.
Now, the European Space agency’s Venus Express has been able to capture the image of a glory over Venus
Along with being beautiful, it’s also giving astronomers new insights into the dense, forbidding atmosphere of Venus, which is made up of sulfuric acid and carbon dioxide. They’re not enoiugh to give the planet its glory. There must be something else in the clouds that hide Venus.
