Danbury Public Schools will offer “Family University,” on March 29.
It’s a full-day conference of interactive seminars to give parents tools to help their children succeed in school and in life while their accompanying children are engaged in age-appropriate activities.
“Great Expectations: Together We Can Achieve More” will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rogers Park Middle School, 21 Memorial Dr. in Danbury.
Keynote speaker, Dr. Anthony E. Wolf, will present “Parenting Kids Today – practical solutions to make the job easier.”
Sessions will be on the Common Core Standards, supporting and motivating Black and Latino Males to achieve in school and in life, cyber safety, healthy eating, violence in video games, positive discipline, a transition to kindergarten.
Children can attend arts and crafts, science activities, music and movement, physical education and cooking. They can meet Danbury Whaler hockey and Danbury Westerners baseball players and visit with the district’s literacy caravan.
