DANBURY — Crews from both Danbury, Bethel and Newtown are responding to Torrington to assist in efforts to douse a large fire at a tire factory.
The fire at Toce Brothers Inc. at Taylor and Albert Streets in Torrington prompted four alarms earlier this morning and has sent a billowing black plume of smoke into the air above the Litchfield County town.
After hours of battling the blaze, crews from Danbury, Ridgefield, Newtown and the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Department in Bethel were called in among others to help rotate fresh firefighters into the efforts.
