New Milford man faces prision

NEW MILFORD — A 25-year-old local man is facing six years in prison on a violation of probation charge.
Brigham Young, of Windy Ridge Lane, New Milford was arrested April 1 at approximately 5:48 p.m. following a motor vehicle stop at 355 Litchfield Road when police discovered an outstanding warrant for his arrest on a violation of probation charge, police said.
Young was serving four years of probation following a 2008 sentence of a nine year prison term on a charge of second-degree accessory to burglary. He had served three years in prison on the 2008 conviction.
Young was released on $50,000 bond, with a court date of April 14 in Superior Court in Bantam.
Also arrested with Young on April 1 was a 16-year-old juvenile on a charge of possession of less than half and ounce of cannabis. The youth was released on a written promise to appear.
