A western Massachusetts man was arrested Friday and charged with making radio transmissions in Litchfield County that interfered with ambulance and fire department responses there earlier this year.

State PoliceConnecticut State Police said that 35-year-old Adam Perrelli, of Great Barrington, Mass., was arrested Friday by Pittsfield, Mass. police. He waived extradition and was then turned over to Connecticut authorities.

He was charged with first-degree reporting a false incident, first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree computer crimes, interfering with an officer and tampering with physical evidence. His bond was set at $150,000 and he is to appear in court in Bantam on Monday.

Connecticut authorities say the fake dispatches were made between Christmas 2013 and Jan. 6. Detectives got copies of the false transmissions and made some of them public, which investigators said brought them many leads.

More leads came from the Massachusetts State Police, Berkshire County District Attorney Office, Great Barrington Police Department, Pittsfield Police Department and the State’s Attorney’s office in Bantam.

State police say their investigation is continuing and additional arrests are possible.  If anyone has further information regarding this case, they are encouraged to contact the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad at (860) 626-1821.
