The Ridgfield Planning and Zoning Commission Tuesday approved a mixed-use building for offices and four apartments at 40 Grove Street.
The building, proposed by Reed Whipple, will have offices on the first floor, two apartments on the second floor, and two more on the third floor.
To allow the building to have four apartments, the commission had to revisit its regulations concerning mixed-use development.
In the past, the planning regulations in town only allowed.2.2 apartments per acre in such a development. The zoning board changed that and now allows up to eight apartment units per acre.
