Whisconier Middle School parents who want to get a sense of how children can learn how to better resolve problems and make better decisions that lead to better behavior should consider attending a program at the school library tomorrow morning (Thursday) from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The program will explain the concept behind the new “Positive Discipline” model that staff are endorsing as a better way to help connect with children so they make choices that help them become successful adults. Consequences are part of this model, but they are not the focus.
Whisconier and high school guidance and special education staff are being trained the new model that started on the West Coast in the 1980s and is just now becoming popular on the East Coast.
