Congregation Adath Israel at 115 Huntingtown Road in Newtown will be hosting a charity event on April 26 that will include the Parents Circle-Families Forum for peace in Israel.
The event open to the community will include cocktails and a silent auction and a dinner and comedy show with national entertainers Moody McCarthy, Andy Pitz and Johnny Lampert, as well an hour-long talk from spokespersons, Robi Damelin and Bassram Aramin, for the Parents Circle-Families Forum, families who have lost closed relatives because of the Israel/Palestinian conflict and are working to forge reconciliation.
This event stems from the Bar Mitzvah project of Steven
Unger that focused on fostering peace in the Middle East and in the local synagogue. Steven, who had his Bar Mitzvah in Israel, chose the Parents Circe-Families Forum as the focus of his project. His family has arranged for the speakers, who have personally suffered loss, to participate in this program.
The cost is 130 for adult and $40 for a youth 17 and under.
For information about reservations, contact Smadar Unger at 203-241-0435 or call 203-775-0404.
