The CT Interscholastic Athletic Conference holds a press conference today at its office in Cheshire in l
22 at 10 a.m. at the CIAC offices in Cheshire in conjunction with the
athletic risk management training program taking place today and Wednesday.
Dr. Lou Marciani the Director of the National Center for Spectator Sports
Safety and Security (NCS4) and CIAC Executive Director Karissa Niehoff will
discuss the program and its relevance for Connecticut.
The two-day training program is in the pilot stage, with Connecticut just
one of three states taking part in the pilot program.
The training was formed with the intent to develop a national risk management training
curriculum and assessment for interscholastic athletics and after-school
programs.
The training will help build safer, more secure, and resilient
high school interscholastic athletics and after-school activities programs
across the country.
