David Clark of Danbury is among three men who will be ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacon on June 14, 10 am at St. Augustine Cathedral in Bridgeport.
Traditionally, ordination as a transitional deacon is the last step before ordination to the priesthood.
Clark, who is 30, was born and raised in Danbury. He attended St. Peter School and graduated from Immaculate High School in 2002. He graduated from the Catholic University in Washington, D.C., in 2006 with a concentration in history.
A visit to St. John Fisher Residence in Stamford reinforced his commitment to a vocation to the priesthood. He entered Mount St. Mary Seminary in Emmitsburg, Md., where he will complete his studies in 2015.
A summer assignment in 2013 introduced him to St. Joseph Parish in Brookfield with Father Chip O’Neill and Msgr. Edward Scull. The two priests have had a powerful influence on the growth of his vocation, and he now considers St. Joseph’s as his home parish.
The other two are Adam Falk of Poland and Carl McIntosh of New York City.
The Most Rev. Frank J. Caggiano, Bishop of Bridgeport, will preside over the Mass and ordination rite.
He will be joined by many other priests throughout the diocese. The public is invited to attend.
