DANBURY — A man accused of holding several people at gunpoint and committing sexual assault in May was arraigned Wednesday in state Superior Court.
Kerlyn Taveras, 31, was arrested earlier this month by police in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was extradited to Danbury on Tuesday to face charges including first-degree kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault. He was held on $750,000 bond.
Details of the May 28 incident were not immediately available though police said the investigation began after officers received information about it on May 30.
The investigation found that Taveras, armed with a gun, held several people against their will for hours while committing the other offenses he was charged with, which also included second-degree assault with a firearm.
