The National Weather Service has lifted all severe weather alerts for Fairfield County
Wednesday morning.
Storms yesterday did impact the area. Danbury received 1.2 inches of rain on Tuesday, said Accuweather meteorologist Paul Walker. In total the area received almost 3 inches of rain in the past few days.
According to CL&P, 4,800 residents in Western Connecticut lost power last night. However, those outages have been restored, and there are now only two reported homes without power in the area.
There was flooding under the West Street bridge in Danbury, where one car was stuck in high water. The street was closed down until the water receded.
Still some rain storms on Wednesday morning, but this afternoon there will be a break in the rain cycle and the sun will come out for better weather, said Walker.
