Former Laurel Hill homestead residents Larry Hoyt and sister Anne Hoyt Hepner point to their childhood bedrooms in the historic house that was moved as part of a new Foujr Corners district apartment complex.
Moving day for a historic home on Laurel Hill Road _ this colonial house that was until recently home to a local architecture firm was moved from its original foundation on the southern end of the street nearest Federal Road to a new foundation on the northern side of what will become a new, 72-unit mixed-use, incentive housing apartment complex, Residences at Laurel Hill.
Construction is underway for the project that is one of the first to be approved as part of the Four Corners revitalization effort to create that area as a downtown destination. The complex will include one and two-bedroom apartments, including 20 percent at rates for moderate income earners, and the historic house will be a commercial use. Thanks to Police Department Major Jay Purcell for taking the nice pix of the move.
