Lake Compounce in Bristol has teamed up with WAKA Kickball and Social Sports to host ‘Plunge for Sandy Hook’ on Sunday, December 8th.
All proceeds will benefit the My Sandy Hook Family Fund which was established to help the families of those who lost loved ones in the Sandy Hook school tragedy.
Principal Dawn Hochspung’s daughter, Erica Smegielski, and Victoria Soto’s sister, Jillian Soto, will be plunging, too.
Those interested in taking the plunge can sign up at www.plungeforsandyhook.eventbrite.com.
There is no registration fee, however each participant is asked to raise at least $50 for the cause.
On-site registration and check in begins at 8:00 A.M. and the plunge starts at 10:00 A.M.
Plungers will be jumping from the dock on the lake in rotation.
Lake Compounce will provide heated changing rooms and Dunkin Donuts will provide hot beverages for all participants. T
he park will also be offering all plungers who raise at least $100 one free ticket to their Holiday Lights celebration that evening.
In addition, Bleachers in Bristol will host an after party and the fee to attend that will be $20.
