In a gathering Monday evening at The Maxx, newly elected New Milford town officials were sworn into office by Town Attorney Randy DiBella.
“It’s an honor to serve as an elected official at the state level. But there is no greater honor than to serve at the local level,” said State Senator Clark Chapin who attended the ceremony.
“What goes out in Washington, D.C., is somewhat dysfunctional. On the state level, in my opinion, less so in Hartford. But none of those offices has the microscope focused more closely than it is on officials on the local level,” Chapin added.
“Yes, you will be stopped at the grocery store, at the gas station to hear complaints and ideas. But at the end of the day, you realize it’s all a part of serving your friends and your neighbors and that there is no greater honor,” Chapin concluded.
