Curtis Packaging unveiled last month a 21-inch high glass sculpture that is a library scene of six shelves surrounded by 20 empty chairs that was commissioned by company leader Don Droppo Sr. as a tribute to the lives of those lost in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
The artist who created the piece is Lucy Lyon of Santa Fe, N.M. She is known for her work in expressionist, cast-glass sculpture.
Anyone wishing to view the memorial can do so through the end of the month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the business located at 44 Berkshire Road.
After July, Droppo will be arranging for permanent display from local community groups. Droppo can be reached at DonZct@aol.com
