The single-engine plane that crashed into 10 feet of swamp water Thursday has been removed, according to Mayor Mark Boughton’s Twitter account.
The plane, registered to Lionel G. Brown of Newtown, was removed shortly after noon by crane.
The plane crashed into swamp water a quarter-mile south of Danbury Municipal Airport, but Brown, who was uninjured, did not specify what went wrong.
The cause of the crash has not been determined, and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate, fire officials said Thursday.
