RIDGEFIELD — Lindsey Rogers-Seitz spoke with The News-Times Tuesday about the circumstances following the death of her 15-month-old son Benjamin, who died earlier this month after being left in a car by his father.
“He was always just so happy,” said Rogers-Seitz. “He said, ‘mommy’ for the first time the Saturday before it happened.”
She wanted to spread awareness around national heat stroke prevention day, which is Thursday. She also wanted people to remember Benjamin for his “infectious smile” and love for nature and basketball.
Benjamin Seitz was left in his father’s car July 7 for an “extended period of time,” according to police. No charges have been filed against the boy’s father, Kyle Seitz, and Rogers-Seitz had no comment on any pending legal action.
