Fairfield County is in for heavy rain and possible flooding for the next two days.
A hazardous weather alert and flash flood watch are in effect, according to the National Weather Service. Both warnings will last from late Tuesday in to Wednesday.
The rain system will move slowly across the area during the day on Wednesday. Showers are likely to be heavy, the weather service predicts one to two inches of rain per hour during the periods of heaviest rain.
A totally of one to four inches of rain is possible for the next 24 hours.
