A Taste of Greater Danbury, the city’s super-sized food fest, returns the first weekend in September with a smorgasbord of great music and delicious culinary offerings.
This year’s festival will be Saturday, Sept. 6, from noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 7, from noon to 7 p.m. on the CityCenter Green (at Ives Street) in Danbury.
Blood Sweat & Tears will perform Saturday at 8 p.m., featuring former “American Idol” finalist Bo Bice. Remember him?! I do.
Meanwhile, more than 20 vendors will offer foods from around the world. Among the participants will be El Sabor Ecuatoriano, Green Island Chicken, The Ice Cream Guy, Mango Tree, Nick’s Restaurant and Two Steps Downtown Grille, as well as Odeen’s BBQ and Thai Awesome of Hamden. (And that’s just to name a few.)
Also performing will be Emily Elbert, listed on the Guitar Center Singer-Songwriter Top Ten. Elbert is known for her strong melodies, straight-to-the-heart vocals, and intricate guitar work.
There will be activities for children at this festival. Remember to wear comfortable shoes because it’s fun to walk around and see the sights while noshing and catching up with neighbors and friends.
Admission is free. You just pay for the foods you want to enjoy.
