Rosalie Brainard, of Bloomfield, died on Saturday at Danbury Hospital after collapsing from her horse while taking part in a coyote hunt in Bridgewater.
After days in the ICU Brainard died due to a blunt impact injury to the head, which she sustained when falling from her horse, said the medical examiner. It was ruled an accident.
Brainard was taking part in the hunt and riding to the back of the horse pack early last week, according to the field master Bill Stuart, of Fairfield County Hounds.
