SHERMAN — Interviews of the three proposals to tenant farm the town-owned Happy Acres Farm are tonight (Monday) starting at 6:30 p.m. in Mallory Town Hall in Sherman. There will be no public participation but the public is invited to sit in.
Six proposals were received to farm the property. They were winnowed down to three proposals: Full Circle Farming, a collaborative partnership that would start with the present beef herd, add chickens and pork and lease out acreage to vegetable farmers; Lescynski Farm LLC, Jeff Lescynski who is now running the farm under contract for the town submitted a proposal that include an offer to buy the present beef herd and integrated to include vegetable; and Rosie’s Dairy, a collaborative partnership that would run the farm as a dairy farm and integrated to vegetable production, does not want present town beef herd.
