NEW MILFORD — The first of three people arrested in a heroin sweep in New Milford last September has entered a plea agreement with the State’s Attorney.
Weston Chavis, 51, of Old Grove Street, New Milford entered a guilty plea Aug. 19 in Superior Court in Litchfield on two counts of sale of hallucinogen/narcotic as a drug dependent seller and one count of first degree failure to appear.
State’s Attorney David Shepack will ask for a 12 year prison sentence, suspended after 5 and 1/2 years with 3 years probation when Chavis is sentenced on Oct. 31.
Chavis remains held on $75,000 bond.
Arrested in the same narcotics operation were Brendan Taylor Moore, 29, of New Milford, and Lise Marie Calabrese, 25, of Warren. Both remain free on bond with pre-trial court dates in October.
