Officials with Union Savings Bank confirmed that their branch on Main Street in Danbury was held up this morning.
Cynthia C. Merkle, the bank’s president and chief operating officer, confirmed that the bank was held up and that nobody was injured as a result of the incident. Merkle said police are investigating the incident.
Witnesses say no weapon was displayed during the hold up.
Police are reportedly looking for a large African American male with a grey hoodie, according to scanner reports.
Police are posted out side the door and yellow tape is strew across the door of the bank. Police cars are cruising the downtown area looking for the suspect.
Danbury police have not issued a report or commented on the hold up.
