The 16-year-old girl who jumped from the fourth floor of a parking garage Wednesday, is still in critical condition at Yale-New Haven Hospital, police said.
The identify of the teen has not been released, but police officials say she is stable as of Thursday.
Danbury High School officials have reached out to students and staff that counseling is available at the school after yesterdays incident.
“Our protocol in an event like this, is we set up a triage process where students and staff member can seek counseling,” said Dr. William Glass, deputy superintendent.
Danbury High School officials alerted police shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday after students received text messages from the girl threatening to kill herself, police said.
After officers searched the girl’s home, they found her standing on the ledge of the hospital parking garage, police said. As officers tried to talk to the girl, she jumped from the ledge, police said.
The teen sustained multiple fractures when she hit a tree as she fell.
