Danbury Police Officers were sent to Danbury Town Park after witnesses said a car was submerged and that driver was trapped inside.

The car was in the water about 50 feet off shore and submerged up to its roof in the water, police said.

The officers saw a hand sticking out of the driver side window and police dove into the water and swam out to the car.

Branche was in the driver seat, with water up to his neck, police said. Officers were able to open the door and bring Branche to the shore.

As Branch lost control of his car he broke through a fence at Danbury Town Park. He was taken to Danbury hospital for evaluation, but only had minor injuries.

The circumstances into how Branche lost control of his car are still under investigation.
