New details have emerged in the case of an 18-year-old accused of sexually assaulting a Bethel teen.

Jonathan Delossantos, 18, of Bethel, was arrested in August after police investigated a complaint made by the parents of a 14-year-old girl. Delossantos was charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child.

The arrest warrant has been sealed due to the victim’s age. Delossantos pleaded not guilty in September to the charges and his attorney, Jennifer Tunnard, has since filed for the victim’s psychiatric, medical and school records.

The results of the victim’s sexual assault kit were turned over last month to the state attorney’s office. The kit showed there was presence of semen, according to court records. Delossantos was tested on Oct. 31 to see if he matched the samples.

The victim’s attorney has asked for Delossantos to be tested for HIV. Those records have been sealed.

Delossantos has been released on a $25,000 bond and is due back in court Dec.11.
