NEW MILFORD — New Milford Youth Baseball Softball’s president Rob Beebe is putting his energy into finding alternative fields for next seasons ball games in the event that Garick Farms reclaims some of the fields now rented on Boardman Road by the league.
Beebe and other NMYBB/SB parents attended last week’s Parks & Recreation Commission meeting to ask for assurances that ball fields would be available through the town.
Registration begins in January for NMYBB/SB and fees are based on how many games will be played and the cost of grooming fields, umpires and supplies.
Tom Beecher, Parks & Rec commission chairman, said other teams would have to be contacted to find out how many requests would be coming in to use town fields before any fields could be assigned for NMYBB/SB use.
Mayor Pat Murphy’s ad hoc search committee continues to look for potential fields the private league can use.
