A woman struck and killed by a truck on Interstate 84 Tuesday night has been identified as a 58-year-old Danbury woman.
State Police say Gayle Difalco, of Mill Plain Road, was killed after she was hit by a truck owned by Timberland Trucking Inc.
According to the accident report, Difalco’s vehicle was parked on the right shoulder on I-84 west, about a half-mile from Exit 6 in Danbury.
The truck, driven by Michael Hess, 47, of Mattawamkeah, Maine, struck Difalco as she exited her vehicle.
Difalco sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at Danbury Hospital.
The truck driver was not injured.
The truck stopped after striking Difalco.
According to Lexus, Difalco had an active dental hygienist license.
The accident remains under investigation and no arrest has been made.
