The identity of the woman who jumped to her death from a bridge on Interstate 84 on Tuesday has been released.
Kathleen Kondrat, 69, of Danbury left a note on the seat of her car with the names of her children, and her driver’s license, before jumping off the Veterans Memorial Bridge along Interstate 84 near Brewster, said Capt. William McNamara of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
Kondrat, who is listed as not married, just recently moved to Danbury. Six months ago Kondrat lived on Shady Lane in the town of Southeast, New York.
Kondrat’s identity was not immediately released as police notified her next of kin.

The bridge, locally known as “the high bridge’’ with twin divided spans, one carrying eastbound traffic and the other westbound on Interstate 84, is located just west of the interchange with Interstate 684 and just north of the village of Brewster. U.S. Routes 6 and 202 and New York Route 22 run along a shared roadway beneath the bridge.
The investigation caused the road beneath the bridge to be closed for about two hours.
