Mama’s Hot Spot near Dunkin’ Donuts on Danbury Road in New Milford.
NEW MILFORD — Friends of Dee and Laurie Meduri always commented on how good Laurie’s cooking was and how welcoming the family’s Warren home was.
Today, that same home-style cooking and warm family atmosphere can be found at their restaurant, Mama’s Hot Spot at 358 Danbury Road (Route 7) in New Milford.
“Mama is Laurie and we call it the hot spot not because we serve hot spicy food but because we want the restaurant to be the hot spot to come to in New Milford,” said the couple’s daughter, Star Meduri.
Mama’s specialty is the rib eye sandwich. With its choice of cheeses and sauteed or raw onions, the Rib-eye Wedge offers mouth-watering goodness, Dee Meduri said. Like everything on Mama’s menu, the wedge is reasonably priced at $8.50.
Dee’s Special was born when Star asked for a good chili dog: a foot-long hotdog with a hot long pepper, chili, sauteed or raw onions and a choice of cheese. Again, the price is reasonable at just $4.95.
With 2015, Mama’s is adding seafood dinners to the menu, with King Crab legs on Fridays and Saturdays.
