A 20-year-old Goshen resident was held on a $10,000 bond for underage drinking and telling police she wouldn’t go to court.
Chelsea Byrne was arrested on December 30 in Danbury when a police officer saw her smash a bottle of alcohol on the ground outside her car, police said.
Byrne had two other passengers and a opened 12 pack of Bud Light Lime in her BMW, police said. She failed a field sobriety test and was charged with operating under the influence by a minor and littering.
Police said during the arrest and booking, Byrne was not cooperating with police. She told officers she was not going to go to court because she was going to leave for Mexico, police said.
Because Byrne threatened to not go to court police raised the bond to $10,000, police said. Byrne spent the night in jail and was arraigned the next day, police said. Her $10,000 was lifted and is now on a written promise to appear.
