Update 1:50 p.m.
The fire began in a pickup truck that was under a grape vine trellis, said Bernie Meehan, deputy fire chief. Flames quickly spread to the trellis. Both the car and trellis were burned.
Flames spread to the garage, but firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before it caused serious damage, Meehan said.
Firefighters were only on scene for an hour. Meehan said the fire was most likely an accident, but they are still investigating.
Original 12:33 p.m.
The Danbury Fire Department was sent to a home on Stone Street after reports of smoke came in around 12 p.m.
In the back of the home a garage and car had caught fire and were fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, said one first responder.
The fire was put out quickly. More to come.
