One person was sent to the hospital after a home on Oak Ridge Avenue caught on fire Sunday night.
When Danbury firefighters arrived at the home, they found that a garage attached to the home was full of smoke, said Steve Rogers, the Danbury Fire Department Spokesman.
However, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire very quickly, Rogers said. No firefighters were injured, but one person was taken to the hospital for burns on their hands and smoke inhalation.
No information has been released on the name or status of this person.
Rogers said it was the swift actions of neighbors that stopped the fire from spreading to the home. Neighbors alerted the resident and fire department of the fire, causing a fast response from firefighters.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. More to come.
