Two men entered the Danbury police department lobby just after 2 p.m. on Monday, exited through a side door near the parking deck and proceeded to illegally enter and kick a car in the lot, respectively, police said.

Danbury residents Daryl Mourning, 23, and Jahun Danzy, 18, were seen coming into the Main Street side of the building by a civilian dispatcher who works in the lobby.

Mourning reportedly entered a car on the upper deck of the parking garage, while Danzy stood outside and kicked it.

The car belonged to one of the civilian dispatchers, who saw the men vandalizing the 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse on a security camera, police said.

Mourning also damaged the console of the car, tampered with the steering column and broke some control switches. Danzy was later found with property from the car.

Mourning and Danzy were charged with two counts of larceny, criminal mischief, burglary and conspiracy to commit larceny and burglary. Bonds were set at $25,000 each.
