The always popular Handel’s Messiah will be performed Friday, Dec. 20, at 7:30 p.m., at the First Congregational Church AT 164 Deer Hill Ave. in Danbury.
Under the direction of Christine R. Howlett, the Danbury Concert Chorus and Baroque Chamber Orchestra will be joined by soloists Melanie Russell, soprano; Kate Maroney, mezzo; Steven Caldicott Wilson, tenor; and Peter Walker, baritone.
Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Early arrival is suggested as seating is first come first seated.
Admission is free with major funding provided by Preferred Utilities Manufacturing Corp and with additional support thanks to a charitable donation from the Amalia & Nicola Giuliani Foundation for Religion and the Arts. Donations at the door will be accepted. Suggested donations are $10 per person and $15 per family.
Handel’s Messiah is presented annually by the Danbury Music Centre. Soloist Melanie Russell, a soprano, is seen below.
