Two men arguing over money were arrested on Wednesday, one for hitting the other in the head with a pipe, and one for running from police because of existing warrants, Danbury police said.
William Estevez, 22, and 19-year-old Felipe Carmo live together at 69 South Street, where police were called for a reported assault at 11:15 a.m.
Estevez came home and accused Carmo of stealing money he had in the house, and the two started fighting.
Carmo allegedly hit Estevez in the head with a pipe, but when police came to the house to question Estevez, he took off running because he had two active warrants out from the Bethel P.D.
Danbury officers eventually ran Estevez down and arrested him.
Carmo was charged with disorderly conduct and assault and was held on $2,500 bond, while Estevez was charged with interfering with an officer, disorderly conduct and assault after being treated at Danbury Hospital. He was held on $2,500 bond.
Estevez was also charged with two warrants from Bethel. One included strangulation, interfering with a police officer, failure to appear, disorderly conduct and assault, and the other was for possession of marijuana, failure to pay or plead and failure to appear. The bond totals amassed $5,500.
Bethel P.D. didn’t respond to a message relating to the warrants.
