The Easter Bunny is coming to Danbury and the way to get to him is aboard a vintage train. The Danbury Railway Museum is offering rides through its historic rail yard on the weekends of March 28-29 and April 3-4, with a visit with the Easter Bunny at the end.
The short ride will be in a fully-restored 1953 New Haven RR Rail Diesel Car, and will take its riders past the fully operational turntable, more than 70 vintage railroad cars and locomotives and a Boston & Maine steam locomotive built in 1907.
The museum is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturdays and noon-4 p.m. on Sundays. Trains will leave every half-hour from 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m., and admission is $10 (age 2 and over). Each child will receive a small gift from the Easter Bunny.
Reservations, which are suggested, can be made on the museum’s website, www.danburyrail.org. The museum is located in the restored 1903 Danbury Station and rail yard at 120 White Street.
